Fruit was sourced from our Jaensches Vineyard and wild fermented in an open fermenter, where it was hand plunged over 4 days before it was fortified with 8 year old Brandy spirit. After spending some time in barrel to settle out, the wine was gravity fed and hand bottled, hand waxed and hand labeled. Yes this wine has indeed been hand made from start to finish and deserves to be enjoyed with family and friends at the end of an evening.
Instantly, from the moment you pour this into your glass you can tell that you are going to enjoy this VP. Ink like in the glass, it stains the rim before before unleashing a volume of liquored cherries, figs, dates and any other black fruit you can think of, into the atmosphere.
Depth,weight and tannins can not to be underestimated as you feel it line your stomach as you take a drink.
Not for the faint hearted but if you like your VPs big then this is definitely the one for you. It will last an eternity if you can hold yourself back… If not, enjoy with friends over a platter of figs, dark chocolate, nuts and blue cheese.
