Jaensch’s Vineyard

Nestled among the rolling hills on the northern fringe of the renowned Barossa Valley lies Jaensch’s Vineyard, a cherished family treasure in the esteemed Moppa region, proudly owned by Suz’s family for three generations.

This special land boasts diverse soils, predominantly shallow red-brown topsoils layered over heavy red clays, adorned with ironstone and quartz.  Each plot’s unique characteristics and orientations provide us with an exceptional array of blending components, enriching our wines with complexity and depth.

The natural influences of the soil and climate naturally regulate crop yields and canopy growth.  Wines from this vineyard showcase luscious dark fruits, deep colours, and robust tannin structures.  Even our inaugural 2005 vintage wines continue to captivate, a testament to the enduring quality of this remarkable terroir.

We’ve been privileged to receive critical acclaim for many of our wines crafted from this vineyard, reflecting its exceptional terroir.  Jaensch’s Vineyard is home to a carefully selected range of varietals including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Durif, Grenache, Mataro, Petite Verdot, and Viognier.  As we continue our journey, we eagerly look forward to expanding our wine list with additional varietals over time.
